We believe in creating a safe space to explore your emotions. I really want to do this, but it seems expensive.

A key ingredient of what makes this experience sacred is the investment up front, signaling a commitment towards your well-being. This investment can either be in money or time. I’m too busy for a new practice or habit, so why would this work for me?

Maybe you’re with your kids all the time, maybe you’re going through a big transition, maybe you’re launching a business, maybe you don’t have time to sit still and learn a new practice. We got you. way is built for you. Your tapes are meant to be flexible and work with you on the go, whenever you need. There is no “correct” way, but we can share a few pointers from our community around how to integrate your tapes as a regular part of your life. We share this during your onboarding and in your first month of using way. In general, you can listen to your tapes when you’re cooking, cleaning, walking, running, at the office, during a quiet moment, sitting in a park, sitting at your desk, lying in your bed, taking care of your kids, putting your baby down for a nap, any place where you feel safe to explore your inner world. Imagine a soundtrack that guides you to your best self — that’s way.

In short, we recommend using your tapes in those moments where you feel overwhelmed, when your stomach is knots, when your chest is tight, and your shoulders just won’t relax. Any time you’re dealing with something challenging, it’s a great time to take five minutes with a tape and find your way.

What kinds of things can I expect to happen when trying these tapes?

If you’re like most of us, this will be a brand new experience for you. We can assure you that it’s totally safe and healthy to go deeper into the experience. The more you put in, the more you trust, the more you surrender to the process, the more you will get out of way. Here are some of the things that could happen…

How would this help me when I’m in all kinds of different or specific situations that are unique to me?

way focuses on the feelings that arise from specific situations, also referred to as being “flooded” or “triggered”. So regardless of your situation or “trigger”, there will be an emotion present. Your tapes guide you through healthy and effective emotional processing in real time. With that process, you will start to experience more clarity, access a deeper knowing, and find perspective towards each situation. On top of that, your way tapes are completely customized based to your needs and goals, so they will be relevant and applicable to what’s going on in your life because you chose them! Each tape utilizes the best and most effective techniques for your needs and goals.

How does it work logistically? How do I record? Is it high quality if I record on my phone?

It’s very simple. We give you a custom script to record on your phone. You record it when you’re feeling grounded and ready. And yes, modern phones have incredible quality microphones (we offer tips and quality control for the best experience possible). We then take that recording back to our lab and produce your own customized tapes, narrated by you. Each tape is professionally produced with the best music to ensure the highest quality and effectiveness for your experience.

Are there a variety of tapes I can have access to?

Yes! The possibilities to explore are infinite and customized by you (with our help!). We recommend that everyone starts with their own customized Intro Jet Pack, which is 4 pack foundation pack. The Intro Jet Pack will work for you in all seasons, all situations, and help you get control and confidence over your emotions in a meaningful way. Is this useful over time and something I can use for years?

Once you receive your Intro Jet Pack, that is the very beginning of your journey. The Intro Jet Pack is meant to be with you for your whole life. A journey that can take many twists and turns and hopefully last a lifetime if you so choose. Want to explore being more confident in the workplace? Want to be a more open-hearted partner? Want to be a more loving parent? Going through a hard time and want to process your sadness and grief? Want to customize your tapes further? Want to re-record a tape? Whatever your needs are, way co-creates and grows with you.

I need trauma support, does this work for that?

We can not guarantee way will process trauma as the complexity of trauma often requires many layers of support. We have a list of resources HERE if you’d like to consult a professional first to understand if way is a safe option for you to process your trauma.

That said, way has helped many from our community heal trauma. Many of the practices and prompts in the tapes have proven their efficacy in healing trauma. Trauma is healed by turning towards your emotions and feeling them in a safe environment, as well as sharing your experience and emotions with empathetic witnesses. way really focuses on helping you feel your feelings and become an empathetic witness for yourself.

The tapes also facilitate self-reflection and self-awareness — this particular study talks about how that can be helpful in healing trauma. We are also deep believers in therapy, and would recommend working with a therapist or reaching out to a free help hotline if you are unsure if way is safe for your specific needs. We have a list of resources HERE as well for anyone who needs additional support. We all do sometimes.

I’m depressed / bipolar / on medication / dealing with an addiction, is it ok for me to use these tapes?

If you have a mental health condition, we advise you consult a medical professional before introducing way to ensure your safety. If needed, please consult our resource list to find a medical professional before starting way.

If you are confident way is the right support for you, we're excited to share that several of the practices in the tapes are backed by strong evidence in supporting people with depression. One particular tool that is very strong in depression support is cognitive reappraisal. HERE is a study about cognitive appraisal that also suggests depression may develop from the inability to regulate emotions which is what the tapes help you develop.

Often with medication, there is a sense of losing one's authentic self. way supports you in getting in touch with your true authentic self, right down to your core. The tapes also promote self-empowerment and being able to create space to process challenging emotions as they are happening. If you have goals to use medication for a short period or transition off of medication, explore way with the help of your medical professional as an option to support you.

How customized is it?

way is as tailor-made as you want it to be! We customize your scripts based on everything you share with us. And then on top of that you have free reign on what else you want to customize. You are the director of your journey! Out beyond the land of your Intro Jet Pack lies a completely customized journey based on where you want to take things and explore.

Is this like meditation?

No. way is not meditation. There is no stranger or [insert famous guru or celebrity] telling you what to do. No offense to the gurus or Lebron, but they do not know me or my needs around anxiety and emotions. way is not a strict daily regimen that needs to be followed where you have to be still and wrestle with your mind. And way does not lock you into more screen time or live classes.

There is a quote by Rumi that sums up our philosophy “Do you make regular visits to yourself?” The cadence of your visits is up to you. You don’t need to know how to do anything or wonder whether it’s actually working. That doesn’t mean that you can’t reap some of the benefits of meditation through your tapes like greater awareness and time for self-inquiry. But way is something completely new — designed for you.
